My initial impression is that this product accomplishes its goal of immediately delivering hot water. I love the instant value, no longer waiting minutes to get hot water.
Our water heater is a LONG way from the kitchen, and with a lower flow faucet, it would take 50-70 seconds to get hot water. This is a real pain when you need to wash one pan or even fill the sink for soaking dishes. I had to get a couple of hoses from the local hardware store to make it fit my faucet, but the install was simple and we have had instant hot water for months now. I can't imagine having to wait that long for the sink to get hot anymore.

I purchased thermomate Mini Tank Electric hot water for my bathroom in my shop. It was easy to install and it shipped very quick. Work as stated. I would highly recommend this product.

Like many reviewers, I used this under the kitchen sink to get much faster hot water to the sink (and not waste a gallon or two). It worked great. I measured the power consumption over time and found that it averages about 32 watts over time. If you used more water, your average power consumption will be higher. My only complaint is that the pipe threads were not cleaned up. They had some kind of scale (other reviewers noted this). I had to tighten the 1/2 inch FIP fitting a little tighter than I thought I might. That's a problem because those fittings leak if they're too tight as well! My advice, tighten to hand tight and another 1/2 turn with a wrench. Then turn on the pressure and tighten to stop the leaks.
The kitchen sink in our bungalow is roughly 50 feet from the water heater. It took most of a minute to get truly hot water to the sink. It was frustrating and very wasteful. I thought of buying one of these heaters but thought they were too expensive. But I finally bought a 2.5 gallon unit and it has been a life changer! It took me a while to figure out the right plumbing adapters (the instructions weren't very specific) and to install a dedicated power outlet but it was all worth it. After one month it is still working perfectly and I'm very pleased with this purchase!
Liked the size had a 4 gallon one that sprung a leak. This time I put tank in a plastic container and rigged a drain One person found this helpful
We installed the mini tank under our kitchen sink. Hook up was very easy. Our regular water heater is located in the back of the house and even in the summer it would take forever to get hot water. Loving it?
Great For Small Spaces, where a hand washing sink is needed.
Needed a solution for hot water in my wife��s art studio. Fits perfectly under a standard mop sink with plenty of room to spare. Heys water well and at 110 volts no need to run 220 to the studio. Plenty of hot water for cleaning up. Highly recommend. Do t think you can do better than this product at a very good price point.
Light, easy to install, and works just fine. Heats up quickly, doesn��t stay on long to recover (set at 2, out of 1, 2 and Max) and at that setting, gives warm water happily until the main water heater takes over. I��ve hooked it to the hot supply at a bathroom sink two floors from the main heater. Only a few months in service , but no complaints.

Our water heater is about 90 feet from the kitchen sink. My wife was tired of wasting a couple gallons of water waiting for warm water to reach the kitchen so I started searching. Our plumbing (on a house built in 1938) was not especially accessible but cutting the copper with a sawzall and using sharkbite fittings (the plumbing went through the wall to wall-mounted fixtures) routed the hot water line under the sink. I put a bypass valve inline and valves on the in and out lines in case I need to shut the water to this heater off sometime for whatever reason. This was all hot water line so the supply line went in the cold side and the out line went back into the wall up to the fixture. The morning after installation, with the thermostat on max, It took one second to get very hot water (I turned it down) to the faucet. My wife was thrilled. On a normal bit of plumbing, with the lines under the sink, I could have been done in much less time and with much less PEX pipe but it worked out well. This unit won the reviews war. I'll update later if there are problems but it's a nice, neat installation. We have to turn it off when we run the dishwasher as they are both on the same breaker but this 2-gallon unit will heat water from cold to hot in a very short time.
We use this in our camper in the sink to give us hot water for washing hands, face and dishes. Yes, its a small tank and if you leave the hot water on full blast it will run out of hot water. However, we have been camping over about a dozen weekends and we don't turn it on full blast but mix with cold so it does not burn. We have plenty of hot water to do the dishes and clean up. This is one of the best items I have bought for our camper. We love it! (No, don't consider it for a shower!)
It is so nice to have hot water immediately. Our hot water tank is quite a distance from our kitchen sink so it would take a while for the water to become warm. Now it is basically instant. It was easy to install and I believe we have received good value for money.
Being as how we have on demand units everywhere, in the kitchen we wanted instant, and this does the job! When it says instant, it means instant.
This thing is awesome. We use it for our business sink where a large heater just wastes energy as well as causes overload with other equipment. This is perfect and sits below the sink. Also in winter the water is very cold , and we want to make it bearable so we have a settings choice or hot or just warm and any setting in the middle. Very convenient . It's been now few months and hopefully it lasts for years to come... Sometimes to save energy we just turn it on just for 10 mins in the morning and as we just use it only to wash hands and couple glasses or so, you don't even need it to be plugged in all day. It keeps the water warm inside for the whole day.
I liked the way it hooked up. I did not like the way to drain it if it wasn't to be used for fear of freezing. It would have been nice if it had a drain plug rather than taking it down.
